Responsible food brands to tackle consumer awareness
Last week saw the fifth edition of the Sustainable Foods Summit in San Francisco, and the new Director-General of the UN Food & Agriculture Organization José Graziano da Silva recently declared the move towards more sustainable food production as a key priority for 2012. But with growing consumer demand for information on provenance and sustainability, the market once dominated by independent brands is becoming increasingly crowded, with the CPG giants bidding for an ever-greater share.
