Technology in the Construction sector

 

In his budget speech on the 23rd March 2011, Chancellor George Osborne announced plans for an assisted deposit scheme, designed to help first time buyers get on the property ladder. The government has earmarked £250m for the scheme, which will be available to somewhere in the region of 11,000 househunters. It has been said that the scheme will create some 50,000 jobs in the construction industry, as well as safeguarding countless others. With this predicted surge in activity, we decided to speak to IT decision-makers at housebuilders to gauge just how much of an impact the scheme will have on companies' infrastructure and consequently, plans for IT investment.
